Department of Integration confirms former Longford hotel to house Ukrainian refugees

The former Park House Hotel in Edgeworthstown has been derelict for a number of years with planning permission granted in 2022 for it's demolition.

The Department of Integration has confirmed a well known former hotel in Longford will be used to accommodate Ukrainian Refugees. The former Park House Hotel in Edgeworthstown has been derelict for a number of years with planning permission granted in 2022 for it's demolition. The Ukraine Crisis Temporary Accommodation Team confirmed in January that an offer of accommodation had been received from the property owners.

It's now been confirmed that up to 59 Ukrainian's will be housed at the former Hotel following a significant refurbishment project. Residents are expected to arrive on site next month with the duration of the contract to last at least two years. Local Councillor Paul Ross says there are concerns about service availability locally:
