The Department of Foreign Affairs is ready to help the family of Longford woman Sarah McNally, who was killed in New York over the weekend.
The 41-year-old was stabbed while working in a pub in Queens on Saturday evening and was pronounced dead soon after. A man was also found with stab wounds to his back and neck, and is in a critical condition in hospital.
The department says it is aware of the case and stands ready to provide consular assistance to the McNally family. The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust is helping to return her body to Longford, while local TD Joe Flaherty has been paying tribute.
