A proposed design has been released for a new outdoor performance and public space in Castlerea.
The multipurpose area will be located at Somer's Park and will include a covered dome with power, lighting, seating and picnic pods.
Earlier this year funding of 250,000 euro was granted towards the project which local Councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice says will accommodate large outdoor arts and cultural events.
The design is now gone to part eight planning and its hoped the new amenity will be ready in time for next year’s Castlerea festival which is held in late July.
Councillor Fitzmaurice is hopeful that the project will enhance the current amenities in the demense and attract more people to Castlerea.
