The General Manager of Dexcom Ireland says he doesn't foresee any difficulty in securing people to fill the 1,000 jobs coming on stream in the region over a period of five years.
Adrian Furey was speaking following the announcement on last Friday that the global medical manufacturing company is to establish a base in Athenry.
The company produces glucose monitors and the majority of the jobs that will be created will be high-tech.
The company executive says the base in east Galway will be in a very strategic location and will be able to draw workers from across several counties…
'The location is perfect. It is accessibility through the road network that reaches far into South Mayo and again over by Roscommon, Westmeath and towards Tipperary, Limerick and Ennis in Clare. I really don't think there will be any challenge in obtaining a really high class, high end performing work force. I think that will be fine.'
