It's hoped the opening of a new remote working hub in Edgeworthstown will result in a major economic boost to the town.
The Co:Worx facility is located at the former Ulster Bank premises which closed in 2017.
Local community activists came together with a plan for the building five years ago with Longford County Council subsequently purchasing it.
Overall, its remodelling, including a state of the art sound studio, cost 1.5 million euro.
The hub was officially opened by Minister of State Robert Troy this afternoon.
He says the new facility means people no longer need to commute to larger urban areas to work.
We've already a number of quality companies signed up to locate and operate from here, and a long stream of interest for further companies to operate here.
Hundreds of people previously were waiting at Edgeworthstown train station every morning to go to Dublin. These people now don't need to go to Dublin every day. They can work in their own town.
That's beneficial from an economic perspective from the town but it's also beneficial from a quality of life perspective for the person.
