Gardaí are patrolling public transport services across the region today, as part of Operation Twin Track.

Gardaí and Íarnród Éireann need more than just one day of action on local rail services to stamp out anti social behaviour according to a regular service user. Gardaí are patrolling public transport services across the region today, as part of Operation Twin Track, a high viability plan to tackle issues on rail routes. Gardaí from the Longford/Roscommon/Mayo Division have been on the Galway-Heuston and the Sligo Connolly Services today.

Maria Keelty is a PPN Disability Rep in Longford and regularly travels to and from Dublin on the train. She says the Irish rail Customer Service Officers are dealing with serious issues on a daily basis. While she's welcomed Operation Twin Tracks, she's calling for a more effective and hard hitting operation to stamp out anti social behaviour on rail services.
