Officials working on the proposed Athlone to Galway greenway are hoping to meet farmers and landowners in the catchment as soon it's feasible.
Over 10,000 submissions were received as part of the public consultation for the five route options through south county Roscommon, East Galway, and West Offaly.
While welcoming the high level of engagement, the project team has expressed concern that only a small proportion of submissions have been from actual landowners.
RPS Consulting who are managing the process says their field officers will be hoping to meet directly with farmers and landowners to discuss the options once restrictions are eased.
