The displacement of families at Lough Funshinagh is being described as a tragedy.
A meeting between the Tánaiste and Attorney General is understood to have taken place today to discuss the worsening situation. Local councillor Laurence Fallon says the threat of more families having to leave is looming large.
Speaking on this morning's Joe Finnegan show, the Roscommon councillor says families in the area are living in constant fear and the situation is on a 'knife edge'.
