Pickets are expected outside some health facilities across the Shannonside region today as medical lab scientists step up industrial action over long standing pay and career development issues.
The union representing medical scientists say they're very disappointed they haven't been approached by the HSE for talks since last weeks action.
A statement issued by the MLSA says if no progress is made today or tomorrow, then a further three days of action are planned for next week.
The action by the lab scientists today will mean hundreds of medical tests and appointments being cancelled for people across Leitirm, Roscommon and Longford.
