Cruising on the river Shannon is likely to be one of the main winners in the domestic tourism sector following Covid.
That's according to the Head of the Hidden Heartlands brand Paddy Mathews who says they will be doing everything in their power to try to hold on to some of the domestic visitors who came to the region last year.
It was announced this week that the Hidden heartlands brand is being extended to cover all of counties Westmeath, Offaly and Cavan.
Paddy Mathews says raising awareness of what's on offer in the region is one of the biggest challenges, but the cruising sector alone has shown there's huge potential for growth.
