Close to 70 people attended a rally in Longford Town yesterday in solidarity with the people of Gaza as the Israel-Hamas conflict continues.
The crowd gathered Longford Market Square yesterday afternoon and called for an end to the siege of the Palestinian enclave.
Israeli airstrikes continue to hit Gaza, in response to the Hamas militant group's attack earlier this month - with a second delivery of aid now making its way in.
The protest was one of many occurring around the country over the weekend, with thousands marching in s similar event in Dublin.
The rallies have been arranged by Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign and pro-Palestine support associations.
Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound at the event, local Councillor Uruemu Adejinmi says innocent civilians are suffering greatly:
