Dramatic fall in electric car sales in Leitrim this year

Sales of new electric cars have almost halved in Co Leitrim this year.

A total of 58 were registered last year between January and September - compared to only 32 in the same period this year.

That's a drop of almost 45 per cent, while there was a fall of 35 per cent in Longford, and 29 per cent in Roscommon.

Nationally, electric car sales are down nearly 26 per cent this year.
