Driver caught at almost 160km/h in Longford

A number of local motorists have been detected speeding by Gardaí during National Slow Down Day.

In Longford, a motorist hit 156km/h in a 100km on the N4 Carrickmoyragh Newtownforbes

A driver in Roscommon was caught driving at 84 kilmonetres per hour in a 50 zone along the N61 in Knockcroghery.

GoSafe checked the speed of 102,404 vehicles and detected 126 vehicles travelling in excess of the applicable speed limit across the country.
