Longford Town missed out on the chance to move to second place in the SSE Airtricity League first division as Drogheda United fought back to earn a 1-1 draw.
Town got off to the perfect start with Rob Manley giving the hosts the lead after just four minutes.
Town had the better of the first half without carving out any real telling chances and Drogheda made them pay as Jordan Adeyemo equalised on 51 minutes.
Adeyemo firing home a pin point James Brown cross to level the encounter. Town worked hard to go back ahead but couldn’t work an opening
Aodh Dervin’s thunder bolt 25-yarder was tipped over by Drogs keeper David Odumuso.
The draw see’s Town stay fourth on 20 points ahead of Cabinteely on goal difference but some nine goals behind third placed UCD.
Bray Wanderers lead the division on 23 points with Drogheda second on 21.
