There was a significant drop in the number of residential homes completed in the Shannonside region last year.
Figures released from the Central Statistics Office this week show the amount of new dwelling completions in Longford, Roscommon, Leitrim and Athlone.
401 one units were finished in 2022 across the region compared to 460 in the year previous.
The CSO figures tracked the number of homes under construction in 2022 that were fully completed within the 12 months, broken down by local electoral area.
County Roscommon recorded the highest number of builds completed last year with a total of 179 units finished, compared to 209 the year previous.
Longford comes next in the listing with 124 homes fully built in the 12 month, the same amount recorded in 2021.
Leitrim saw 55 fully built homes signed off on , a drop when compared to the year before where 80 units were constructed.
To date in 2023, work on close to 100 new homes has been completed locally, with Leitrim and Roscommon, with 37 units each finished in Roscommon and Longford and just 18 built in Longford.
Nationally, Over 6,700 new homes were completed in the first three months of the year.
That's a rise of 19.1 per cent on the same three months last year.
