There are almost 13,000 people currently on the live register in the Shannonside region.
It's a drop of over 350 people when compared to this point last year, which was the beginning of the implementation of coronavirus restrictions and lockdown's.
Roscommon currently has the highest rate of unemployment in the region with 3,800 people currently on the live register in the county a drop of over 300 when compared to last year's figures. 1,900 are currently out of work in county Roscommon while Castlerea has 864 people on the register.
Meanwhile, Roscommon town and Boyle have 609 and 427 people, respectively, out of work
Longford has also seen a drop in people claiming the social welfare support with 2.278 people on the list this year compared to almost 2,350 people at the start of last march.
In Leitrim, there are 1,257 people on the live register in Carrick-on-Shannon according to recent CSO figures, as well as a further 1,629 in the county.
In Westmeath there are 2,157 and 1,773 people claiming unemployment support in Mullingar and Athlone respectively.
Meanwhile, the region has seen a further reduction in people closing their Pandemic Unemployment Payment claims.
133 people in Roscommon have returned to work, with 5,166 people still on the P.U.P.
Longford has seen a decrease of 68 while 62 further people in Leitrim have closed their claims for the Covid-19 support.
Nationally , the number of construction workers receiving the payment has seen the largest decrease this week, with 1,685 fewer people receiving the PUP compared to last week.
