County Longford recorded the biggest drop in the number of people unemployed last month in the Shannonside region.
The county's live register dipped by almost seventy between December and January to a total of 2327 - a year on year drop of sixteen.
Roscommon's live register total dropped by five between December and January - with a total of 1920 people unemployed in the county last month.
Year on year the county has shown a drop of over one-hundred people on its unemployment total.
A slight drop in unemployment figures was also recorded for Leitrim - with a decrease of three from December to January reflected in an unemployment total for the New Year of 1,647.
Athlone's unemployment total was up by twenty-one - with 1765 people on the town's live register for January and the number of people unemployed in Mullingar dropped by 47 between December and January - with a total of 2136 claiming some form of social protection assistance in the town.
