The Longford Divisional Drugs Unit and local Gardaí conducted a search of a premises in the town earlier this week under operation Tara.

In a follow-up search, Gardaí discovered a cannabis grow farm in the early stages of construction. 

Searches carried out by local Gardaí on Richmond Street uncovered a quantity of suspected cocaine worth €7,000.

The discovery has been made at Rosslare Europort.

Separately, various quantities of other illicit drugs worth €26,000 were discovered while searching parcels at a premise in Dublin.

Members of the Divisional Drugs unit were on the ground in local towns while, the Garda Roads Policing Unit conducted a number of checkpoints.

Gardaí raided a property in Loughglynn on Tuesday where they found cannabis herb and cannabis plants.

The seizures were part of Operation Tara - an enhanced national anti-drugs strategy, which was launched by Garda Commissioner Drew Harris on 2nd July 2021.
