His remains are reposing in Drum Parish Hall until 8pm, ahead of his funeral Mass in St Brigid's Church, Drum, at 11am tomorrow.

His funeral Mass will take on Thursday in St Brigid's Church, Drum, at 11 o'clock, followed by burial in Drum Cemetery. 

Over 2,300 people signed a petition calling for a reversal of the decision to return the 82-year-old to his order in Dublin.

In a letter to the local committee, Bishop Kevin Doran reiterated that Fr Michael had served his time in Drum and would be leaving by the end of August.

Bishop Doran recently stated that the 82-year-old priest had served well beyond the normal retirement age of 75.

Polls closed at 10pm, after being open since 7am.

The dances currently take place in Drum community Centre in South Roscommon
