Drumlish has been given the green light to move forward with an extensive redevelopment of their community centre building.
Longford County Council granted permission for the addition of two two-storey extensions to the front and rear of the existing building at Hillstreet Drumlish.
The project has now gone out to tender and local county councillor Padraig Brady is hopeful that they'll be able to access funding streams to help them get the project over the line.
He says the project will include among other things, the creation of new meeting rooms, a kitchen, an upgraded heating system, a lift for wheelchair access and a complete face lift.
Cllr Brady says it's a massive undertaking by the community but one that hopefully might be able to fund itself once the building work is complete:
