Around 80 per cent of the electorate in Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim, have voted in the local and European elections today.
It's sure to be one of the highest in the country.
Polls closed at 10pm, after being open since 7am.
Elsewhere in Leitrim, there was a 61 per cent turnout in Cloone, and in Leitrim village, there was a turnout of 69 per cent for the locals, and 63 per cent for Europe.
In Co Roscommon, there were 55 per cent turnouts in both Boyle and Ballaghaderreen, 57 per cent in Cortober in Carrick-on-Shannon, and 62 per cent in the Tulsk/Ballinagare area.
Co Longford has had an average turnout of around 60 per cent, with around 60 per cent in Ballinalee, between 70 and 75 per cent in Newtowncashel, 73.2 per cent in Legan, and around 58 per cent in Kenagh and Moydow.
In east Galway, there was a 45 per cent turnout in Ballinasloe and 50 per cent in Tuam.
Boxes will open in the count centres throughout the country at 9am tomorrow, with the Leitrim count taking place in the Landmark Hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon, the Roscommon count in the Hyde Centre and Longford's in St Mary's Community Centre in Edgeworthstown.
There are a total of 54 seats up for grabs in Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon councils.
The European count takes place in Castlebar.
