€100,000 announced for two Roscommon walkway projects

Minister for Rural and Community Development Heather Humphreys said the funding will support the further development of hiking trails and other amenities.

Funding has been made available for projects in two County Roscommon areas. €100,000 has been made available for projects in Castlerea and Athleague with both projects receiving €50,000 each. The funding is going towards the Athleague Village Looped Walk linked to the Suck Valley Way and the development of the Castlerea Riverside Boardwalk.

Minister for Rural and Community Development Heather Humphreys said the funding will support the further development of hiking trails and other amenities making them even more enjoyable places for families to visit. Meanwhile, Local Fine Gael Senator Aisling Dolan welcomed the news announced by Minister Humphreys:
