€25,000 in funding allocated to 5 Roscommon Integration projects

Close to €25,000 in funding has been allocated to 5 Roscommon Integration projects.

The grants are part of the Communities Integration Fund which supports new families living in Roscommon including refugees and migrants.

The local allocation is part of a wider fund of over €566,500 announced by Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, Roderic O'Gorman.

Local recipients include the Refugee Support Centre in Ballaghaderreen for their Integration Initiative.

They are set to receive €5,000 while Ballaghaderreen Community Games will also get €5,000 for an initiative helping Afghan and Syrian children integrate into the community games.

Boyle Family Resource Centre CLG will get €4,500, while Roscommon Lyons Club's Failte Ukraine Rossie Radio Project is to get €4,950.

Elsewhere in the county, the Donamon Refugee Centre Support Project have been awarded almost €5,000 related to their work with Refugees.

Local Senator Aisling Dolan is encouraging other community groups to apply for a share of next year's funds:
