Somers park in Castlerea is to be developed to accommodate large outdoor arts and cultural events.
Funding of 250,000 euro has been granted to erect a dome like cover similar to that at St Geoge's Terrace in Carrick on Shannon.
Roscommon County Council will also construct special paving and seating in the park, located in the Demense, and install capacity for an audio system.

Fianna Fail councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice who is involved with the Castlerea Festival Committee says as well as other arts and cultural groups, they will be able to stage events for the whole community.
