44 million euro has been allocated to Local Authorities in the Shannonside Region for local and regional road projects in 2023.
The figure was announced today by Transport Minister Eamon Ryan with 626 million euro nationwide going towards maintaining and improving the country's roads.
Nationally, funding for 2023 is up over 20 million euro, with Climate adaptation new focus of the funds according to the Minister.
Roscommon has secured the largest allocation locally, with 21 million euro ringfenced for works in the county.
This included 11.7 million euro for improvements to the local and regional road network.
That's followed by 13 million euro for the roads section of Leitrim County Council, with the allocation including a discretionary fund of 1.8 million euro.
Longford received the lowest figure locally at 9.7 million euro, with just €307,500 of that to be used in climate adaptation works.
