Twelve agricultural shows in the Shannonside region have received funding from the government to help them stage events this summer.
Each show will attract funding in the region of €5,000 - €6,000, with funding based on vouched expenditure.
In total, €700,000 is being provided to support the return of the shows over the coming months across the country.
The money was announced by Minister Heather Humphreys this week.
Shows to receive the significant cash injection in this region include Ballinalee, Athlone, Longford, Mullingar, Granard, Manorhamilton, Castlerea, Ballinamore, Boyle Summer Show, Roscommon, Mohill, Elphin and Strokestown.
