An east Galway woman has lost her husband and two children following a drowning tragedy in Donegal.
Three members of the same family tragically died when their car skidded across a road and into a lake in Donegal last night.
They have been named this afternoon as Moville businessman 49-year-old John Mullan, his 14-year-old son Thomas and 6-year-old daughter Amelia.
The mother of the children, 45-year-old Geraldine Mullan, who is originally from Williamstown, managed to escape the car and get help.
The car was travelling from Muff towards Quigley's Point when the driver lost control and the car skidded across the road and plunged into Lough Foyle.
Three bodies have since been recovered from the water and taken to the Letterkenny University Hospital Mortuary where post-mortems will take place.
