A Longford-Westmeath TD says eating disorders must be taken more seriously in this country. Sinn Féin's Sorca Clarke says there's a clear shortage of trained staff with the necessary expertise to provide the specialised care. She claims the current healthcare system is failing those with eating disorders.
Deputy Clarke said that while the announcement of two additional eating disorder teams was a step in the right direction, it wasn't enough. She says the current system is not fit for purpose:
