Two local towns are set to benefit from Arts Council funding as part of a Creative Places initiative.
Ballaghaderreen in Roscommon and Edgeworthstown in Longford will share in a 1.7 million euro funding allocation for seven towns.
The research award allows artists to work with local businesses, community groups and individuals enabling sustained and vibrant cultural activity in their area.
Roscommon Arts Officer Rhona McGrath says this funding will help address the current lack of arts infrastructure in the town.
Their vision is to Build a Better Ballaghaderreen where the arts and creativity are central to a vibrant, diverse and proud community.
