Motorists across the region are being reminded of the consequences while driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The appeal was made by Sergeant Rosaleen Logue who was part of a multi-agency open day at Carrick-on-Shannon Garda Station over the weekend.
The Leitrim Roads Policing officer is urging motorists to slow down, don't drive while intoxicated, wear your seatbelt, and watch out for cyclists, pedestrians, and horse riders.
