A local general election candidate says people in his constituency are being intimidated by drug gangs. Dr Martin Daly, a Fianna Fáil candidate in Roscommon-Galway, says criminals have approached families over cocaine debts. He said the issue has been raised by a number of people in the east Galway area who say they've been threatened in their own homes.
The Ballygar GP says the drug is highly addictive and has caused havoc for many young people locally. Speaking as part of today's Let's Talk debate, he said innocent family members have been threatened with physical violence:
