An Elphin man says the town 'took their eye off the ball' after reports of several positive Covid-19 cases this week.
Locals have expressed concern and anger after the HSE confirmed to a school that a Covid-19 case "associated with attendance at a bar in Elphin" had been notified to them.
Shannonside Northern Sound FM understands a second school has also been contacted about a positive Covid case in the last 24 hours.
A publican in the town who is Covid positive says he is aware why people would be angry after up to 60 people were present at his premises on Saturday night.
Gordon Murray, of the Bothar Rua pub, said he was "disappointed" a party took place at his premises and he was unaware that he should have been self-isolating while waiting for the results of a Coronavirus test.
