The National Emergency Co-ordination Group says these hubs are assisting people with their basic needs, including water, hot food, phone charging and access to shower facilities.

Local authorities around the region are working with community groups to set up emergency response hubs in areas worst affected by Storm Eowyn.

In Roscommon, local community centres are coming together with the County Council to provide services to those without power.

In North Roscommon Boyle GAA Club and St Michael's GAA & LGFA clubs are offering the public facilities to shower, charge devices and access Internet.

The Ballaghaderreen Family Resource Centre and The Shambles are offering Tea/Coffee & Charging facilities, while a tanker for water is available at the Fire Station in the town.

In the Roscommon MD, Kilbride Community Centre are opening their facilities for hot water supplies and device charging, while Ballyleague-St Faithleach's GAA Clubhouse is open for charging phones and medical devices, with hot drinks also available.

In Roscommon Town, the Cube Flexi-Space/ Roscommon LEADER Partnership Offices on the Lanesboro Road have Remote working/Wi-Fi/Hot Water facilities open.

The Castlecoote Community Centre is open until 8pm this evening with charging and cooking facilities available.

In South Roscommon, Drum Community centre is welcoming the public in to charge phones and heat water, while St Brigid's Gaa Club in Kiltoom is open daily from 8 to 4 and 6 to 10 for device charging, showers and access to hot and cold water.

In Longford, the County Libraries in Longford Town, Granard, Ballymahon and Edgeworthstown are open for device charging while the Bridgeways Family Resource Centre in Ballymahon and Lus Na Greine in Granard offering the same.

While County Leitrim is to establish emergency relief hubs in the coming days.

The Council has today established a helpline for those in those in need of assistance and to provide advice and direction to supports available.
