A man has been rescued from the Boyle River in the north Roscommon town.
The incident took place yesterday afternoon when he was spotted entering the water around half past four.
Emergency services were quickly on the scene including Gardaí, fire brigade and ambulance.
The rescue helicopter based at Strandhill was also tasked to the scene and helped search the waters.
The man was taken safely from the river and was brought to Sligo University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
