An environmental group is expressing its unhappiness at recent language used by the Minister for the OPW and Roscommon County Council's CE in relation to legal proceedings around Lough Funshinagh.
Director of Friends of the Irish Environment (FIE) Tony Lowes says the group believes an apology is due to the High Court following comments made by Eugene Cummins at Council meeting last month and by Deputy Patrick O Donovan to media after he met with local politicians last week.
The group claims that both men have used language to attack the legal process around their successful efforts to stop the installation of a pipe to drain water away from the flooded turlough.
FIE has also warned that it will be raising the language used by both men with the EU Commission who they claim are monitoring applicants in in environmental cases here and language used to describe them.
