The ESB has confirmed that an electrical fault resulted in a manhole cover being blown into the air in Ballaghaderreen on Friday afternoon last.
Dozens of customers in the town centre were left without power on Main Street close to the Charlestown junction just after 3pm.
Several ESB crews attended the scene and the utility has confirmed that a fault occurred on an underground cable as a result of other infrastructure coming into contact with it.
Following a short outage, power was restored at around 7.30pm and ESB Networks apologises to all impacted customers by this outage.
