The ESB has reported over 1,000 power outages in the Shannonside region.
It comes as blustery winds and heavy showers have been suggesting that a possible storm will hit Ireland as we head into the new year.
959 ESB customers in Carrigallen, Co. Leitrim, are currently without electricity, which is expected to be restored shortly.
Meanwhile, 37 power outages have been reported in the Longford area, and 13 in Arigna, Co. Roscommon.
The ESB says it is working to restore electricity supplies to the affected areas and urges the public to never approach or touch fallen or damaged electricity wires.
Status yellow weather warnings have so far been issued for Donegal, Mayo, Galway, Cork and Kerry.
