Over 20,000 ESB customers across the Shannonside region are still affected by power outages. Storm Éowyn has caused significant disruption to electricity and water supply.
The ESB are drafting in crews from the UK to help restore power to the almost quarter of a million homes and businesses still without electricity across the country. Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Jarlath Doyle from ESB Networks, says it's likely some customers will be without power until next week:
Meanwhile, water supply has returned to parts of Co. Longford this morning including Longford Town, Newtownforbes and Drumlish. In Co. Roscommon, a boil water notice has been issued to customers supplied by both the Castlerea Public Water Supply and Boyle Regional Supply Scheme.
Uisce Éireann is also aware that customers on the Mayo/Roscommon border are experiencing a disruption to their water supply this morning. Ballaghaderreen Cllr Micheal Frain has this update from the area:
