Over 18,000 ESB customers across the Shannonside region are still affected by power outages. Storm Éowyn has caused significant disruption to electricity and water supply, with electricity for some homes without power for at least another week.
ESB crews are active across the region as they attempt to return power to thousands of homes and businesses in Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon. Emergency crews from the Netherlands, France, Austria and Finland are due to arrive from today to help the ESB restore electricity supply to homes and businesses across the country.
Approximately 8,000 people across Roscommon are still dealing with power outages, with over 2,000 out in the south of the county, 600 out in Castlerea and 400 out in Ballaghaderreen. 5,500 premises in Longford are in a similar situation with 1,000 people without power in the Ballinalee area, 450 in Aughnacliffe and 300 in Esker.
Leitrim is also seeing hundreds of faults affecting dozens of customers each. 500 homes are out of electricity in Mohill with another 1000 in Rooskey and Dromod while 500 homes are out in Corrawallen. Power resumption time across the region is estimated from the next 48 hours in some areas to mid next week in some rural areas.
