Some households in the Shannonside Northern Sound region may be left without electricity overnight as a result of Storm Ellen.
Hundreds of ESB crews are working across multiple sites nationwide to restore power to approximately 90,000 customers left in the dark after high winds and heavy rain rast night.
Approximately 8,000 customers in the Shannonside region remain off the grid this afternoon, including several thousands in Roscommon, Longford and the Ballinasloe area.
