Roscommon's Eugene Murphy is on the verge of losing his Seanad seat - along with Ballinasloe's Aisling Dolan.
The first count for the Agricultural Panel got underway this afternoon, with four local politicians in the race.
The established quota is 95,667.
Fine Gael's Paraic Brady has a strong chance of taking one of the 11 seats as he is currently in 7th place.
This is followed by Cathaoirleach of Leitrim County Council, Paddy O'Rourke, who has secured 27,000 votes - but he has a mountain to climb to get elected.
The count has revealed the odds are not looking optimistic for Independent Eugene Murphy and Fine Gael's Aisling Dolan.
Outgoing senator Eugene Murphy is hoping to retain his position in the Oireachtas, but is currently in 24th place out of a total of 28 candidates hoping for a seat.
While outgoing senator Aisling Dolan is facing a similar fate, having secured only 19,000 votes.
The two appear to be in serious danger of losing their Seanad seats.
