Global Rossie Day will take place this weekend in a celebration of all things Roscommon. Roscommon County Council says, since the pandemic, there's been an increase in people moving to the area, mainly because of remote working hubs. As part of the Roscommon Bound campaign, Global Rossie Day takes place officially this Sunday but there will be a number of events today in Roscommon town.
Music, drama, film and family activities will be taking place in towns and villages across the county. Rita Kearney, organiser and Tidy Towns Chair, detailed some of the events taking place today in Roscommon town and surrounds:
