A former Garda Superintendent has been charged with a drugs seizure in Dublin last week.
Dublin-based John Murphy, whose address was not read out in court following a request from his solicitor, was charged after cannabis was allegedly discovered at his home last week.
The 61-year-old was arrested last Wednesday night after several kilos of drugs were allegedly discovered at his property by senior officers from the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
He made no reply when charged, and he was remanded in custody with consent to bail ahead of a further court sitting this coming Friday.
