Some 'fake news' stories falsely claim consuming coffee can ward off dementia.

Experts have warned that 'clickbait' cures for dementia are giving false hope to millions of people around the world.

'Alzheimers Disease International' has identified 4,000 'fake news' stories this year alone, that falsely claim champagne, coffee, and chocolate ward off dementia.

It says politicians must get better at communicating the true risks of dementia and stamp out mis-information.

Recent studies suggest that factors like lifestyle, environment and medical history can all affect the odds of developing the condition.
