Funding of over €1.4 million (€1,474,358) has been announced for Local Improvement Schemes across the Shannonside Northern Sound region.
The funding, announced today by Minister Heather Humphreys, will allow works to be carried out on non-public roads in rural areas.
The LIS scheme allows works to be carried out to improve access to sites like rural homes and farms and outdoor amenities like lakes, rivers and mountains.
Roscommon is to receive the most locally at just over €375,000 (€375,104).
Longford, Leitrim and Monaghan are all receiving €270,000.
All local counties have seen an increase of €20,000 in their allocation this year when compared to 2020.]
