Electricity consumption across the Shannonside region decreased between 2021 and 2022.
New figures released by the Central Statistics Office show that Leitrim and Roscommon experienced the largest decreases in residential consumption in the region
The latest release from the CSO breaks down the amount of electricity used in each county in Gigawatt hours.
According to the release, overall consumption reduced across all 3 counties in the Shannonside region.
Leitrim and Roscommon experienced a reduction of 8 gigawatt hours between 2021 and 2022.
While in Longford, electricity usage went from 86 gigawatt hours to 81 gigawatt hours last year.
Nationally cork had the highest residential consumption last year at 975 gigawatt hours, a reduction on the 1,117 GWH in 2021.
