People with children are set to fork out three hundred euro more than average over Christmas this year.
The average planned spend is a thousand euro -- rising to 1300 euro for those living with children, according to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.
A third of people also plan to borrow to cover their Christmas spending instead of dipping into their savings.
