The jury in yesterday's medical inquest returned an open verdict, meaning that in their view the evidence did not fully or clearly explain the cause and circumstances of death.

The family of a Leitrim man found dead at his home five years ago are renewing their call for information on his death. Liam Farrell died suddenly at his home in Aughamore on the 12th of January 2020, in what his family believe were violent circumstances. The jury in yesterday's medical inquest returned an open verdict, meaning that in their view the evidence did not fully or clearly explain the cause and circumstances of death.

Solicitor for the Farrell family, Frank Buttimer, has called on Gardaí to make a statement in relation to the matter. Liam's son Brendan is appealing to anyone who has information or who witnessed anything suspicious around the time of his father's death to contact the Gardaí:
