Farm families and members of the public are being encouraged to attend a special meeting in Carrick on Shannon tomorrow evening.
The meeting is being organised by the local IFA branch with guest speakers discussing the topics of rural crime prevention and the nursing home fair deal scheme.
The event takes place at 8pm in the Bush Hotel and Mary McGovern who's Chair of Leitrim IFA's Farm Families Committee says it will beneficial for the public to be informed on both issues.
She says all are welcome to attend and the meeting will facilitate people in making plans for the future.
"It's one of our ways of putting something back into the community and to thank people for the support for our farmers over time. It doesn't mean you're putting someone in a nursing home if you come to this, it just means you're getting the information and the more of the family that come together so you can discuss it afterwards and discuss the different ways you picked up the information, the better. The important thing is to come and attend and get the information and then you'll be able to assemble it and help to make plans for your family afterwards".
