Farmers in the region are being reminded to take serial numbers of machinery and equipment they own so it may be identifiable if it's stolen.
The advice comes as gardai in Leitrim investigate a couple of thefts from farms in recent days.
Farmers are also reminded they can still get their property marked with a special machine by the gardai if they request the service, and that can also help in the return of the goods if they're stolen.
Sergeant Orla Mc Grath from Carrick-on-Shannon station says while gardai had been able to organise large property marking events previously, they had to stop them due to Covid.
She says though that they're willing to help anyone who'd like to get their property marked now.
